UK ACTIVISTS HOLD PRO-PALESTINE VIGIL

Human rights campaigners from across Britain are to hold a vigil in London in solidarity with the Palestinians.
The protest hold at opposite Trafalgar Square in central London on Sunday June 2 in response to a pro-Israel demonstration planned for the same day.

According to Press Tv and quoted by MINA, British activists were join the vigil, which is organized by the London-based Islamic Human Rights Council (IHRC) and Innovative Minds (inminds), in order to show solidarity with Palestine and outrage over Israeli regime’s war crimes.

The UK pro-Israel community marked the 65th anniversary of the creation of the regime by an outdoor community event, entitled “Closer to Israel”.

However, British pro-Palestine will hold a peaceful vigil, commemorating 65 years of witnessing occupation, genocidal acts, and violations of international law and human rights.

Palestinians refer to the May 15, 1948, occupation of Palestine as the “Nakba Day,” which means the Day of Catastrophe in Arabic, to mark the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians from their homeland almost 65 years ago.

Israeli forces have wiped nearly 500 Palestinian villages and towns off the map, leaving an estimated total of 4.7 million Palestinian refugees hoping for an eventual return to their homeland more than six decades later.
