Rafah border is tightened
again, only 50 people per day are allowed to cross the border, Nur Ikhwan Abadi,
MINA correspondent in Gaza reported on
Monday (24/6).
"Currently in
Gaza, Rafah border is tightened, only 50 people per day are allowed to cross
the border, the condition is exacerbated by the closure of nearly 90% tunnels connecting
Gaza with Egypt," said Nur Ikhwan.
This condition
has a huge impact to the people of Gaza, unavailability of food and building
materials also make this condition more severe and has negative impact.
"The impact
after the tunnels were closed seriously felt the people of Gaza, since early
June, cement, iron, block, and other building equipment became rare goods. This stopped
the development process in Gaza, " Nur Ikhwan said.
When Nur Ikhwan
was asked about the development at Hospital of Indonesia (RSI) in Gaza, Nur
Ikhwan said the construction is still going on until now. "Builders of RSI continue to run. We still have stock of
building materials”.
The results are
limited building materials such as cement, iron and block in Gaza. "The
price of building materials rise dramatically," Nur Ikhwan added.
"For cement,
the price is normally 400 shekels now becomes 700 shekels, and it is difficult to
find cement,” Nur Ikhwan added who is also a manager construction of RSI in
Gaza,
According to
Abdurrahman Parmo, one of volunteers in Gaza said cement stocks now only 5 packs.
According to him,
the other materials are not a problem. Today
is supposed to continue the installation of bathroom ceramic on second floor. "But
I had to stop it because there is no cement, and moved to the 2nd floor,"
he said when confirmed by MINA.
